KenkoTokina
We celebrated our 60th anniversary in September 2017. Our successes are due to the wonderful support we have received from such a wide range of people, from our customers who grace us with their continued patronage through to trading partners who support us with their continued cooperation and understanding. I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Our company was established as a manufacture specializing in optical product in Nihonbashi, Tokyo in September. 1957. Based on our advanced optics technologies, we have continued to provide a wide variety of optical products such as optical filters, binoculars and astronomical telescopes that fully respond to the needs of our customers that constantly change together with the times. In recent years we have forged into new fields such as medicine and security, developing a broader range of business activities in the pursuit of continued innovation and growth.
As we reach this incredible milestone of our 60th anniversary, we will continue to strive together to continue contributing to the harmony between humans and nature, and in the creation of a compassionate society in our role as a general imaging and outdoor optics company.
We hope we can continue receiving your continued support, and look forward to continuing to serve all of our customers in the future.

About the 60th Anniversary Logo
The logo represents a combination of the lens filters which have been our leading products since our company was first established, a vibrantly designed number 60 and our corporate color blue (Kenko Blue that represents our reliability and expanding business), and embodies the energetic vitality of our company that extends from the past long into the future.
The gold peeping through the central filter represents the pride of Kenko Tokina, which is the “sparkling light that we can see through our business” and our “delight given to our customers through our products”.
History of Our Products
KenkoTokina
Established “New Kenko Photographic Industry Corporation” which took over the Kenko filter business from the former Kenko Photographic Industry Corporation.
This is the origin of the current Kenko Tokina.
Started sale of 16 types of filter known as “Kenko Deluxe Light Value Filters”.

Started sale of “Optical Products”, such as binoculars, telescopes and microscopes.


Started sale of “Kenko P.L. Filters”
that enable contrast adjustment for color photographs.

Started sale of “Kenko Teleplus”
that doubles the focal length of existing lenses.

Started sale of “Kenko Circular P.L.”
that does not affect the exposure function of the latest cameras.

Started sale of “aosta Camera Bags”,
our own original camera bags.

Started marketing Tokina lenses.

Started sale of Cokin filters.
Started marketing Slik tripods.

“PRO1D Filters” that are fully optimized for digital SLR cameras.

Started sale of Kenko exposure meters and color meters.

Started sale of “Zeta” filters, the highest grade of filter in the digital era.

Kenko merged with Tokina,
and the company name was changed to Kenko Tokina Co., Ltd.

“ZX” high grade filters that support 4K and 8K resolutions.

Photo Contest 2017-2018
We will hold the International Filter Photo Contest 2017-2018 to commemorate our 60th anniversary.
We will be accepting a wide range of entries of photographs taken using filter effects.
